As a church, we’re drawing close to Jesus through the spiritual practice of communion.  We will celebrate communion together on  Sundays and during the week we’ll have a variety of devotionals, activities, videos and other ways to learn more about communion and draw closer to Jesus.

Passion Week – March 25th – March 31st

The resurrection is the most important moment in history, but it’s more than an event we remember on Easter Sunday. Join us this week as we examine our savior’s life, death, and resurrection in greater depth.

Monday March 18th – Week 2

Doing Communion as a Family

This week, alongside our bible plan, we’re challenging families to do communion together. You can lead it before or after a meal, as a family devo, or anytime your family would like to. The goal is to help ignite your family’s faith as we draw closer to Easter and to help them learn about this important practice. We’ve linked a great resource below to help you.

Monday, March 11th

Read.
Matthew 26:26-30

Mark 14:22-26

Luke 22:14-20

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Reflect.
What words in these scriptures stick out to you?

Look inward and reflect. What does Jesus’ sacrifice mean for you individually? List some things in your life that Jesus has paid for and forgiven.

Look outward and reflect. Jesus was willing to spill his blood and let his body be broken for you to accomplish his mission. In light of this rate your passion for seeing Jesus’ mission accomplished.

Pray.
Thank God for your forgiveness, specifically for the specific things you’ve been forgiven for. Ask God to increase your passion for his mission to seek and save the lost. Pray for someone you know who needs God’s touch or needs to begin a relationship with him.

Tuesday, March 12th

Read.

Exodus 12:1-28

John 1:29-34

Reflect

What parallels do you see between the Passover and communion?

What parallels do you see between Passover and the crucifixion of Jesus?

Pray

Thank God today for the once and only sacrifice of the perfect lamb.

Wednesday, March 13th

Read.

1 Corinthians 11:17-32

John 17

Matthew 5: 22-24

Reflect & Pray.

Where is God calling you out today? Is there a behavior that has you trapped in sin?  Maybe unforgiveness and bitterness have a grip on your heart. Maybe a circumstance has you worried, fearful, or angry at God. Confess these to Jesus now. Ask God to remove anything that’s in between you and him.

Thursday, March 14th

Read

Matthew 16:21-28

Reflect

Where are you struggling to understand God’s will? Is it in a certain area of your life? A decision? A diagnosis? Struggling with sin? Maybe you’re in conflict with God’s will. Maybe, you understand, but the honest truth is you just don’t want to. Whatever the case, you can surrender that God.

Pray

God, today I surrender _____________ to you. I will follow your will because I believe that you are my heavenly Father.

Friday, March 15th

Read

1 Peter 2:9

Ephesians 5:1-2

Reflect

How has your mindset and actions toward others changed as a result of knowing Jesus? Try making a list using this prompt. “I used to be _______. Now, because of Jesus, I am ______”

If you’re struggling in an area of your life, you can use the same prompt to speak the truths of who Jesus wants you to become. Write these future truths down and speak them in faith over your life today. Commit to live them out in your interactions today.

Pray

Every prompt you finish is a way that God has or is transforming you to be more like Jesus. Thank God for your transformation that has happened because of the grace of God. If you’re struggling with a specific sin or in an area of life, surrender it to God and ask him to transform your mind and heart.

Saturday, March 16th

Read.

Matthew 26:30

Reflect & Pray

Spend some time in worship today! Find your favorite song and sing it out loud. It doesn’t matter if you sing good, God sees it as worship. If you like to worship in nature, take a quick walk. Thank God for the beauty he’s created for you to enjoy.
